Washington, DC – At today’s quarterly public meeting of the Postal Regulatory Commission (Commission), the Commission outlined its plans for the upcoming review of the existing ratemaking system. The Commission is notifying the public now so that all interested parties may prepare to fully participate in the review that will start after December 20, 2016.

Washington, DC – The Postal Regulatory Commission will host an off-the-record technical conference on August 26, 2016, at 10:00 am in the hearing room at Commission offices, 901 New York Ave. NW, Suite 200 Washington, DC 20268, to discuss data represented in the Postal Service’s first two quarterly reports on its service performance measurement systems proposals for Market Dominant products. Representatives from the Postal Service will discuss the quarterly service performance reports and be available to answer questions relating to the data.

Taub testified before the U.S. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee at a hearing on May 11, 2016, titled “Reforming the Postal Service: Finding a Viable Solution.” During his testimony, Taub outlined the Commission’s analysis of the various challenges that contribute to the Postal Service’s current financial condition. The Acting Chairman concluded his presentation by asking, “Where can we look for answers? I would argue that the starting point is to look at ourselves.

Washington, DC – Today the Postal Regulatory Commission (Commission) issued its analysis of the United States Postal Service (Postal Service) fiscal year (FY) 2015 Annual Performance Report and fiscal year 2016 Performance Plan. The Commission is statutorily required to review the Postal Service’s goals and make findings as to whether the Postal Service has met those goals and offer any recommendations regarding the protection or promotion of public policy objectives.

Washington, DC – Today the Postal Regulatory Commission (Commission) called for public input and comment as it prepares a statutorily mandated report to the President and the Congress on the operation of the Nation’s postal laws. The Commission established Docket No. PI2016-3 for this purpose.

Washington, DC – The Postal Regulatory Commission (Commission) today issued its statutorily mandated Annual Compliance Determination (ACD) assessing the Postal Service’s compliance with pricing and service performance standards in fiscal year (FY) 2015. The most pointed critiques identified in this year’s ACD relate to service performance generally, and cost and service problems with flat-shaped mail (flats). -

Washington, DC – The Postal Regulatory Commission issued Order No. 3047 addressing issues on remand that applies to Full Service Intelligent Mail Barcode (IMb) and Flats Sequencing System (FSS) processing. In addition, the Commission also published a notice of proposed rulemaking requesting comments on a procedural rule for motions concerning mail preparation changes that require compliance with price cap rules.
